Snohomish Health District has released the second of five reports addressing what needs to be done to ensure Snohomish County is an aging-friendly community. Nancy Fischer is all about choices

Nancy Fischer is not afraid to make choices, especially when it comes to her personal growth. When her mother and then her husband died, she wrapped herself in her faith and the love of family and friends. And then she made a choice. She joined a few others volunteers from her church, and another 70 or so from other churches, on a nine-day Corner of Love medical-dental mission to primitive, remote villages in Nicaragua. Celebrating the life of Henry M 'Scoop' Jackson

Several activities are being planned to commemorate the centennial of Henry M. Jackson’s birth. The public is invited to a ceremony on Sunday, May 20, 3 p.m., when a bust of the Senator will be unveiled and dedicated at Everett’s Grand Avenue Park, 17th St. and Grand Ave., just across the street from the Jackson home.
